WordPress founded by WordPress Foundation. it is firstly performed in 2003 as a joint effort between Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little to create a fork of b2. Christine Selleck Tremoulet, a friend of Mullenweg, recommended the name WordPress. There is a team of co-founders in the organization. it is a platform based on PHP and MYSQL. The latest version of WordPress is 4.8.1 released on 2 August 2017. It is a free and open-source content management system installed on the web server that is part of internet hosting serving or a network host. It includes a plugin architecture and a template system. it is used by more than 27.5% to 10 million websites in February 2017. it is reportedly the most popular website management or blogging system in use on the Web supporting more than 60 million websites.
Its users can install different themes and can change the themes. It allows users to change the look and functionality of the website without changing the site content. Themes may be directly installed using the its dashboard<“appearance”><“themes”><“add new”>. The PHP, HTML, and CSS found in themes can be directly modified to change theme behavior. A theme can be a “child” theme which inherits settings from another theme and selectively overrides features. It has two categories of Themes:

Free themes are available in the WordPress theme directory and premium themes are available for purchase from marketplaces and individual WordPress developers. Use Press This to clip text, images, and videos from any web page. Then edit and add more straight from Press This before you save or publish it in a post on your site. If you have posts or comments in another system, it can import those into your site and export When you click the button download export file WordPress will create an XML file for you to save to your computer.
This format, which we call WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR, will contain your posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, and tags.
Once you’ve saved the download file, you can use the Import function in another WordPress installation to import the content from your site.
